History of the club

The Old Old Tilleul dairy and estaminet, located at 11, Square du Vieux Tilleul in Ixelles, is a precious witness to the rural history of the region. This farmhouse, whose primitive core dates back to the 18th century, was extended in the 19th century.
Over the decades, the hamlet of Boondael, where the building is located, has undergone intensive urbanization, especially between 1930 and 1960, leading to the disappearance of many rural structures. However, the Old Dairy and Estaminet du Vieux Tilleul was preserved and renovated in 1956 by the architect Marc Spinnael. This renovation made it possible to transform the interior into a restaurant and changing rooms for sports field users.
Today, the building is an integral part of the Bois de la Cambre Tennis Club, offering members and visitors a unique historic setting for playing tennis and relaxing. This harmonious integration of architectural heritage into contemporary activities testifies to the desire to preserve and enhance the cultural heritage of Ixelles.
The Kreps family has managed the club since 1999 with Eric and Martine as the driving force behind the club and the restaurant. Since 2020, their daughter Caroline has taken up the torch with heart & passion
